Event: Paint With a Purpose (New Orleans, LA)

By: Casey Arden

Looking for something fun to do next Thursday, July 18th? I’ve got just the thing! Corks n Canvas, a painting studio in New Orleans is having an event that they call Paint With a Purpose to benefit CASA – a great charity (it stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates). CASA does great work giving kids an advocate when they can’t speak for themselves. The children that are helped are mostly abused and neglected children; the adults that CASA puts in these kids lives can really make a huge difference.

According to Melissa Vandiver, the manager of Corks n Canvas, “we usually do a Paint With a Purpose about once a month, and we will do it to benefit any non-profit organization.” This is supposed to be a fun event where novice painters can come and have a good time in a “party atmosphere”.

The event is BYOB and you can go by yourself or really make it a party and go with a few friends. Not only will you have a great time at the event, but you will leave with a painting to remember your fun experience. And it’s a pretty good price too! It’s $45 per person and $22.50 goes to CASA. It’s a totally public event and you can register online.

The event is from 7-10pm at 700 Dublin Street in New Orleans. So relax, paint something fun, have a drink with friends – and do it all while you are supporting an amazing charity!
